Mod Descripton:

Changes since the BETA:
Added Summoned Holy weapons (see note 3E below).
Removed Magicka Bonus for Manwe.
------------------

This mod is for players who miss the playing
traditional Paladins and Priests, with powers
appropriate to those roles. Only use this mod if
you wish to play one of these types.

INSTALLATION
Simply Unzip and extract this plugin into your
Oblivion/Data folder. Then select the CoL plugin.

Compatibility and Using in the Mod Manager
I personally use ~50 mods (including “OOO”), and
have discovered no conflicts with the CoL mod.
However, you must LOAD CoL LAST in the OMM List.

Hasty Overview
You must start a new game.
If you want to play a Paladin type character,
choose The Eyes of Manwë Birthsign.
If you want to play a spell casting servant of the
gods, choose The Hand of Varda Birthsign. Then
look for all spells in your list prefixed with
“CoL”.

Do not choose the Conjuration skill hen you make
your character. It is crashed down (-999), and is
not used for any of the CoL spells.

Full Overview of CoL
This mod brings in these two character types by
swapping out two birthsigns used in the vanilla
(The Lord and Lady) with The Eyes of Manwë and The
Hand of Varda (for all JRRT fans). The spells of
CoL are not offered anywhere except in the
Birthsigns.

Birthsigns are structured so that players may make
characters focused on Paladin or Priestly type
characters, but players may create whichever
specific “classes” they desire.

Spells which damage unholy types will grow in
strength as the player advances, either with his
Level, or with his Restoration Skill. So, at level
one a damaging spell is very weak, but at level 25
the same spell is quite potent.

Here are the powers that both types have in
common:
1) Repelling (‘Turning’), (specifically, i.e.,
spells that target only these types):
a. Undead
b. Vampires
c. Demonic Creatures
d. Unholy Servants (Necromancers, Mythic Dawn
characters, etc).

2) Damaging (specifically):
a. Undead
b. Vampires
c. Demonic Creatures
d. Unholy Servants (Necromancers, Mythic Dawn
characters, etc).

[Each progression of the spells which target
unholy types includes the previous weaker types.
So, if you cast a spell aimed at B, it will
automatically also target A, if you cast C, it
also targets A & B types, etc.]

3) Other:
a. The Restoration Skill is boosted, and is used
as the foundation for all spells against unholy
creatures/characters.
b. Tower of Inner Light (Boosts Willpower and
Magic Resistance for limited time)
c. Disease Resistance (77%)
d. Light Spell

e. Weapons of the Valar: The CoL characters may
call forth weapons designed to destroy unholy
creatures. Just as with other damaging spell,
these grow in power with the level of the
character. WARNING: These weapons are designed
against the specified unholy creatures. They are
virtually useless against other creatures.

f. The Holy Healing spell using my RBH idea:
“Restoration Based Healing”(also to be released
sometime as a separate mod). RBH is a healing
spell that grows with the Restoration Skill (the
higher your skill, the more you heal). Thanks go
out to “Big Brother” (on the official TES forums)
for showing me the proper script.

The issue of balance arises, for Champion of Light
characters may be too powerful without penalties
to even things out. Therefore, the following
things are lowered:
1) Conjuration is crippled, for it is antithetical
to have these holy warriors creating undead. This
will not affect Turning spells, since it is all
done through a script.
2) Alchemy, Illusion, Destruction also lowered.

The Eyes of Manwë should be used for the Paladin
type characters—warriors who charge into melee to
crush evil beings. Their spells against evil foes
are either the summoned holy weapons, touch with a
tiny radius, or touch with a large radius. This
Birthsign also boosts all armour skills and melee
weapon skills.

The Eyes of Varda should be used for making
spell-casting type (Priestly) characters. They
have all the spells given under Manwë, with the
addition of Ranged and large Area Ranged effects.
Their penalties to Alchemy, Illusion, and
Destruction are lower than the Paladins. They are
also granted a small Intelligence boost and a
large bonus to Magicka.

See the README for more.
