Mod Descripton:
This is an updated version of Flyfightflea's
(FFF's) hotkey casting mod. FFF has left the
Oblivion modding community and has released his
mods to the community for further upgrades and
updates. As such, I have taken up the torch for
Hotkey Casting. This mod requires Oblivion Script
Extender (OBSE).
The purpose of the mod is to give you 9 additional
spellcasting keys. Tapping one of these keys will
immediately cast the spell you have bound to it.
All keys are customizable. Enter the menu with the
/ key on the numberpad (above 8) or by pressing
both control keys.
New in v3.0
* Scripts have been updated to be much more
efficient. The old version of hotkey casting ran
an average of 137 if statements every frame. The
new version runs an average of only 18 per frame,
with no loss of functionality.
* Fixed: The previous version would sometimes
accidentally cast the wrong spell, especially in
laggy situations. It'd cast the spell you have
selected, instead of the spell bound to the hotkey
you pressed.
* Fixed: Previously, you couldn't chaincast (cast
while holding block) spells from hotkey casting
nearly as fast as you should be able to.
* Fixed: Having a scroll equipped when hitting a
hotkey from this mod no longer causes the mod to
stop functioning. Scrolls themselves are still not
supported, but at least they won't break anything
anymore.
Note to new users
Spell scrolling is still ON by default, and this
takes over your mousewheel. If you'd rather use
your mousewheel as usual, turn off spell scrolling
in the hotkey casting menu. This is in the readme,
but eh, maybe this will cut down on the number of
topics asking about this.
