Mod Descripton:

0.3.1 Update Notes: There is an in-game version of
the readme in a book that can be found in the
CraftyBits Warehouse Chest of Stuff for Testing.
:)

---------------------------------------
From
the CLS-CraftyBits OBSE V 0.3 Beta
Readme

Introduction to CLS-CraftyBits OBSE
v0.3 Beta

CraftyBits is a hands-on crafting
system for Oblivion. It is unique in that the
majority of the process of crafting is done with
little use of menus and in-inventory scripting. As
much as possible the work of crafting is done in
front of you working directly with the raw
materials.

It is an expansive mod including
several kinds of cooking, skinning, making fur and
leather armors, wood working, bow making and arrow
fletching, and smithing. All raw materials are
harvestable in game, including several types of
wood, several types of fuel for the forge, ore for
smelting into metal stockbars, sinew and other
materials for bow making, and pelts for fur and
leather armors.

This is still a BETA
release and rough edges are to be expected.
I've noted known issues in the full readme.
Still, most of the mod should be playable as it
is- again, except as noted in the full readme. You
ARE going to read the readme, aren't
you?

The most notable reason this is still
very much a BETA release is that smithing is
unfinished, sometimes unstable, and hasn't
been sufficiently play tested. It does more than
the last version of craftybits, though, and a
enough other things are fairly polished (fur and
leather crafting, woodworking, bow-making, cooking
triggers in player houses, improved barding with
animation, etc.) that its worth releasing as is.

Requirements
CLS-CraftyBits REQUIRES
Oblivion Script Extender v 11 or higher. Download
the latest version at
http://obse.silverlock.org

READ THE README.
This is a fairly complex mod that involves doing
things in the game that are somewhat different
than the vanilla OB way of doing things. Its not
difficult and its as intuitive as it can be, but
reading the readme will ~greatly~ enhance your
ability to use and enjoy the mod. It may be
frustrating to try and figure out if you chose to
ignore the readme... you've been
warned.

Incompatibilities:

eek's
Smtihing Beta is incorprated into this version of
Crafybits. If you usually have that mod loaded
please unload it before playing with
CLS-craftybits

Dark Monk's Portable
Campsite is also included and will conflict with
any other version of Aridale's original work.
only the campfire has been modified for use
with CrafyBits cooking, however.

This
version also changes several leveled lists- mostly
having to do with adding critical devices and
ingredients to vendors, vendor lists, and loot
lists. If you are using other mods that affect
these lists I'd recommend loading
CLS-craftybits after them in order to have eggs
and milk available in the game. There is no other
way to get them at the moment except the pantry in
the CB warehouse. Vendors which are directly
affected include Jensine's and Shady Sam,
along with several of the goods vendors around
Cyrodiil. I'll have a complete list in the
next version of the readme.

I've also
modified and included the vanilla pit armor for
leather working. In the next release I'll make
my own unique versions but for now CLS-Craftybits
will have minor conflicts with any other pit
leather mods that also use the vanilla items. All
the crafting stuff will still work, you'll
just have to chose via load order which stats you
want to use- mine or another mod's.

All other additions to this version are
unique items. If existing meshes and textures were
included from other resources (eg. Ghogiel's
Armor Resource) I've retained the orginal
folder structure to be compatible with any other
mods that use the same
resource.

*********************
Version
V0.3 Notes
This is buggier and less complete
than I'd like. I'm releasing this as
is for now since it will be several weeks before I
can devote much time to it. I've eliminated
all of the bugs (that I know of) that cause
devices to break (except smithing...) and games to
crash, but you'll notice other rough edges:
missing or somewhat inappropriate icons,
inappropriate ground meshes for the buckskins, and
some balancing issues- particularly in the way
skills are incremented by crafting activities and
possibly the custom leather and fur armors.

I've also left some of the testing
messages in place. once I'm sure
everything is working and balanced I'll remove
them.

I have done my best to make this as
fully playable release as a beta can be- with the
exception of craftybits smithing. Since the base
of mining and smelting uses eeks Smithing Beta as
a base I've included a full implementation of
that mod in this release. Feel free to use it (it
IS complete and bug free) or ignore it. once
CB smithing is fully functional and stable
I'll covert the rest of the smithies to CB
versions. I've included eek's readme's
so please refer to those for more information
on that excellent mod.

Enjoy!
CLShade
